Daily Mail Coolift Gun Review
Daily Mail Coolift Gun Review – Mail Online
This facial takes less than half an hour. First, my skin is blasted with a gun-type contraption — officially called a Cool Lifting Gun — which emits frozen carbon dioxide, better known as dry ice.
The freezing, minus 20c temperature causes the blood vessels to contract and then dilate, which improves the oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin’s surface, making it appear more radiant.
The carbon dioxide is also mixed with hyaluronic acid — a hydrating substance that can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water and is brilliant for plumping skin.
The high pressure of the gun means the hyaluronic acid molecules penetrate deep into the epidermis (the top layer of skin). The rest of the treatment is facial massage, which helps to ease puffiness, sculpt facial contours, boost circulation and ease tension from muscles.
How it feels: For the first four minutes, all I can think is: ‘How soon is it going to stop?’
The gun makes a high-pitched clattering, and each of the blasts from its nozzle feels like a handful of tiny, needle-tipped icicles being driven into my face.
But the rest of the ‘workout’ is a lovely massage.
The results: I’m impressed by how much better I look after this super-speedy treatment. It was worth the chilly start.
When I look in the mirror, there is a gorgeous clarity to my skin that is usually lacking.
Even better, the wrinkles around my eyes have almost disappeared and my lips are plumped.
I really do seem to have lost five years.
Ouch factor: 6/10
Time taken: 30 minutes.
Where? £80, Selfridges London, facegym.com.
